No turning Back
So 2 years ago I puschased a 1989 Chevrolet suburban for the purpose of having a new work vehicle,
It had 45,000 miles on the odometer when purchased in July of 2009(now has 54,000) a 6" lift, very clean interior, and all accesories worked overall was a pretty clean and rust free rig. So I bought it and started driving it on a daily basis for work (as intended) and after about 3 months I started having problems with it (yay me)!
It started shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear roughly, had problems holding a smooth idle and brakes were not doing what they are supposed to do,ie.. slow you down SMOOTHLY, stop completely WITHOUT screaming at you, randomly disappearing competely without even a polite warning, basically all of the things you do NOT want brakes to do.
So started the long and EXPENSIVE process of correcting these and other numerous problems and ailments that seemed to creep up and bite me in the ass!
I know many people who have early to mid 80's Chevy trucks and suburbans ( I myself have owned several)
79 Scotsdale, 75 Silverado-short/wide and a 77' Scotsdale that I owned for 2 weeks.
So I have decided to document the process of repairing and improving my latest headache, as time goes on I will be adding more pictures and sharing the process of what I encounter along the way, hopefully I will be able to help some of you that read this avoid the fusterclucks that I will and have encountered along the way so far.
My goal in starting this journey is to add some humor and levity to a process that can be at times very ardurous.
